  • Profile

Meet Beatrice (Bea) Lavery

Bea oversees Roche's global regulatory development strategies and execution for the pharmaceutical portfolio across all disease areas and platforms. With Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Calgary, specializing in Microbiology and Infectious Disease research, Bea joined Genentech in 2001. She has held a number of leadership positions in regulatory affairs, including Global Head of Oncology Regulatory Affairs. In 2017, she was recognized as a “Rising Star” by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association.

Throughout 2024, Bea has continued to champion discussions on patient-centered clinical research through multi-stakeholder meetings, panels, and peer-reviewed publications. As a mentor and advocate for aspiring young leaders, women, and ethnic minorities, Bea is among the key sponsors of a global early talent discovery and development program.

“We need to ensure that science is translated to the general public through education, transparency, and community engagement to foster trust. It is essential that we combat misinformation and myths, leverage trusted messengers in the dialogue, and simplify the information about the safety, benefits, and importance of key therapeutics, especially vaccines.”
