CEO and Co-founder, Cellares
Fabian co-founded Cellares to rebuild cell therapy manufacturing around automation, robotics, and standardized production. The company’s Cell Shuttle platform is designed to automate end-to-end manufacturing, replacing dozens of manual and semi-manual steps with a closed, scalable system. In 2024, Cellares launched its first cGMP Cell Shuttle, and has also introduced Cell Q, an automated quality control system intended to address downstream testing bottlenecks.
The past year brought a major validation point: the first patients were dosed with Cabaletta’s rese-cel manufactured by Cellares on the Cell Shuttle. For Fabian, that milestone demonstrated not only GMP readiness, but also regulatory, comparability, release testing, and delivery performance in a live clinical program. With partnerships including Bristol Myers Squibb, Kite, and Cabaletta, and Smart Factory plans spanning the US, Europe, and Japan, Cellares is moving from manufacturing concept to industrial infrastructure.
“When the premise for your company is that the entire manufacturing process for an industry needs to be rebuilt from scratch, the market will only believe you when patients are dosed.”
“What the field needs is manufacturing architecture designed from the ground up for throughput, reproducibility, and cost structure. Adoption of that architecture is how the promise of this modality becomes the reality of patient access.”
