Meet Joel Eichmann

Joel is Co-founder and Managing Director of Green Elephant Biotech, where he is developing more sustainable tools for cell culture and cell therapy manufacturing. The company’s CellScrew platform was designed as a plant-based alternative to conventional plastic cell culture systems, reflecting Joel’s broader focus on reducing waste and environmental impact in bioprocessing.

In March 2026, Green Elephant introduced Archimedes One, a dynamic adherent bioreactor designed to give developers continuity from early process development to closed, automated manufacturing. Built alongside CellScrew, the system is intended to preserve the same cell culture environment, surface, and fluid dynamics as programs move toward scale. For Joel, the overlooked challenge is not simply scaling up, but giving developers affordable, representative scale-down models that prevent a costly comparability cliff later in development.
