Meet Beatrice (Bea) Lavery

Bea oversees Roche’s global regulatory development strategies and execution across disease areas and technology platforms. She joined Genentech in 2001 after completing bachelor’s and master’s degrees in microbiology and infectious disease research at the University of Calgary. Since then, she has held several regulatory leadership positions, including Global Head of Oncology Regulatory Affairs.

Bea has helped shape approaches to inclusive clinical research, working with regulators and other stakeholders to refine Diversity Action Plans and improve the participation of underserved communities. She also champions patient-centered research through publications and multistakeholder discussions, while mentoring aspiring leaders, women, and ethnic minorities through initiatives including a global early-talent program.
