Molly is co-founder and Chief Science Officer of AmacaThera, where she helps guide the development of injectable hydrogel-based drug delivery technologies designed to provide localized, sustained release across therapeutic areas including post-surgical pain, cancer, and hard-to-reach targets. A University Professor at the University of Toronto, she is internationally recognized for her work in polymer design, biomaterials, drug delivery, and tissue engineering.
Her academic and translational impact is exceptional. Molly has published more than 650 papers, patents, and abstracts, delivered more than 420 invited lectures, and trained more than 220 researchers. She is the only person elected to all three of Canada’s National Academies – Science, Engineering, and Health Sciences – and her honours include the Order of Ontario, Officer of the Order of Canada, the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Award, the Killam Prize in Engineering, Fellowship of the Royal Society, and the NSERC Herzberg Gold Medal. Through AmacaThera, she is helping translate decades of biomaterials research into practical drug delivery solutions for patients.
