Meet Piers Ingram

A mathematician by training, Piers co-founded Hummingbird Bioscience in 2015 to bring rational drug discovery principles to biologics. Drawing on systems biology, immunology, and computational approaches, he has helped build the company around precision biotherapeutics, with a particular focus on designing antibody-based therapies for challenging oncology targets.

Under Piers’ leadership, Hummingbird has advanced two internally built oncology antibody therapeutics into the clinic. More recently, the company designed a HER3 antibody-drug conjugate, reflecting Piers’ belief that rational design can improve the safety and efficacy profile of newer antibody modalities. The program was out-licensed to Endeavor BioMedicines, marking another step in Hummingbird’s efforts to translate computationally guided biologics discovery into clinical development.
