Meet Sandeep Kulkarni

Sandeep is co-founder and CEO of Zura Bio, where he is building a focused immunology company around therapies for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. A physician by training, he has worked across biotech company formation, investment, consulting, and clinical-stage development, bringing together medical judgment, capital markets experience, and operational discipline.

Before becoming CEO of Zura in January 2026, Sandeep co-founded and led Tourmaline Bio, advancing pacibekitug, a long-acting anti-IL-6 antibody, before the company was acquired by Novartis in 2025. At Zura, he is now overseeing a pipeline that includes tibulizumab, an IL-17A/BAFF bispecific antibody in development for autoimmune disease, alongside programs designed to address the complexity and heterogeneity of immune-mediated conditions.
