Meet Christine Allen

Christine has built a career at the intersection of drug delivery, formulation science, academic research, and entrepreneurship. A professor at the University of Toronto and fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, she has published more than 180 papers and helped advance novel delivery systems, nanotechnologies, and formulations designed to improve the performance of medicines.

As co-founder and CEO of Intrepid Labs, Christine is now applying machine learning, robotics, and self-driving lab approaches to formulation development. In 2026, an AI-designed small molecule formulation developed using Intrepid’s machine learning platform moved into clinical evaluation through a collaboration with Quotient Sciences, marking an important step from digital formulation design toward real-world clinical translation.
