Meet Claudio De Luca

Claudio co-founded NanoPhoria in 2022 as a spinout from Italy’s National Research Council, bringing more than 25 years of cross-functional experience in MedTech and biotech product development, strategy, clinical validation, and commercialization. Since launch, he has helped turn the company’s nano-in-micro delivery platform into one of the most closely watched emerging stories in European cardiovascular biotech.

Under Claudio’s leadership, NanoPhoria closed an €83.5 million Series A in 2025, described by the company as a record for Italian biotech, with backing including the European Innovation Council Fund. The financing is supporting development of NP-MP1, a proprietary peptide delivered through an inhaled nano-in-micro platform for heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. Although still preclinical, the program has attracted significant support for a technically ambitious approach to targeted cardiovascular therapy.
