CEO, Nanoform
Edward co-founded Nanoform in 2015 after working with Jouko Yliruusi at the University of Helsinki to develop a particle engineering technology for small molecule APIs. A former professor of physics, visiting professor at Harvard Medical School, visiting scholar at Stanford University, and project leader at CERN, he has built Nanoform around the Controlled Expansion of Supercritical Solutions platform, which is designed to improve drug loading, bioavailability, and release profiles.
Under Edward’s leadership, Nanoform has grown into a technology-enabled CDMO focused on helping drug developers improve challenging molecules. Recent clinical and customer results have highlighted the potential of nanoformed APIs to reduce pill burden, while early work with partners including Takeda has explored the ability to apply Nanoform’s technology to highly concentrated biologic injectables. The company has also moved to a three-shift GMP manufacturing pattern to meet rising customer demand.
