Meet Lee Cronin

Lee is Founder and CEO of Chemify and Regius Professor of Chemistry at the University of Glasgow, where his work has helped define the field of digital chemistry. His research combines chemistry, robotics, AI, and programming to change how small molecules are designed, discovered, and made. Through Chemify, he is building a platform that connects digital molecular design with automated synthesis, aiming to make complex chemistry more reproducible and scalable.

Chemify’s chemputation technology brings together cheminformatics, robotics, and AI in a digital chemical stack for the design, planning, and synthesis of novel small molecules. Recent projects include grant funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to support discovery of new drugs for tuberculosis and malaria, as well as a partnership with Prepaire Labs to digitally discover non-addictive opioids. Together, these efforts reflect Lee’s broader ambition: to turn chemistry into a programmable platform for faster drug discovery.
