Amgen plans to deploy Veeva Vault CRM globally, expanding a collaboration with Veeva Systems that has lasted more than a decade.
The move is intended to provide Amgen with an “agentic” commercial technology foundation, using artificial intelligence agents to support commercial teams and strengthen engagement with healthcare professionals (HCPs).
According to Veeva, the platform is designed to help life sciences companies capture and generate evidence from interactions with HCPs, while identifying treatment barriers that may otherwise remain hidden. The companies say these capabilities could help improve launch execution and accelerate the delivery of new therapies to patients.
“Moving to Vault CRM will help accelerate our efforts to bring new therapies to patients globally with greater speed and agility,” said Scott Skellenger, senior vice president and chief information officer at Amgen, in a recent press release. “Veeva’s deep understanding of life sciences, its continued focus on innovation, and our long-standing collaboration will help support Amgen in achieving these important goals.”
Vault CRM forms part of Veeva’s wider Vault CRM Suite, which combines CRM technology with AI-enabled tools for commercial teams. One feature, the Agentic Call Report, is designed to generate what Veeva describes as “Commercial Evidence” from field interactions and help surface potential barriers affecting treatment access or uptake.
The deployment comes as pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies increasingly explore generative and agentic AI tools across commercial, medical, and operational functions, with a particular focus on reducing administrative burden and extracting more value from customer interactions.
“Vault CRM will provide the agentic commercial foundation to help Amgen deliver innovative medicines for some of the world’s toughest diseases to millions of patients,” said Matt Farrell, president of commercial strategy at Veeva, in the press release. “We look forward to supporting Amgen as it launches important new therapies worldwide.”
Veeva currently provides cloud-based software, data, consulting, and AI tools to more than 1,500 life sciences companies, ranging from large pharmaceutical manufacturers to emerging biotechnology firms.
