Helen Hobbs

Professor, Internal Medicine and Molecular Genetics; Director, Eugene McDermott Center for Human Growth and Development, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center

Helen was awarded the Breakthrough Life Sciences Prize in 2015 for her work on identifying key genes involved in lipid metabolism and fatty liver disease. Her work has also led to the development of a novel class of drugs for lowering LDL cholesterol by blocking PCSK9.
