Every December, The Medicine Maker celebrates the “Innovation Awards.” The Awards celebrate the top drug development and manufacturing technologies to hit the market over the course of the current year.
Nominations are now open for our 2023 Innovation Awards – which means technologies launched during 2023 are eligible to be nominated. We will also consider nominations for technologies launched at the end of 2022.
What types of technologies are we looking for? New equipment – from lab systems to processing machines to bioreactors; IT and digital platforms, such as AI-based products or software; ingredients; formulation technologies; drug delivery technologies; cell lines; cell culture media… There is so much innovation involved in drug development and manufacture that the list of eligible technologies is almost endless…
It’s easy to nominate – just fill out the online form and submit
We consider technologies for biologics, cell and gene therapies, traditional small molecule drugs, and all other drug modalities.
What’s the prize? Publicity and bragging rights. A shortlist of the top 12 technologies will be published in the December issue of The Medicine Maker. Readers will then vote for their overall top technology – with the grand winner having the opportunity to tell the full story behind their innovation in one of our 2024 issues.
Nominations can come from users or from the vendors/developers of the technology – but you’ve only got until October 10 to get your innovation into the mix!

My passion is ensuring that our authors’ expertise is presented as a seamless and enjoyable reading experience, whether in print, in digital or on social media. I’ve spent fourteen years writing and editing features for scientific and manufacturing publications, and in making this content engaging and accessible without sacrificing its scientific integrity. There is nothing better than a magazine with great content that feels great to read.
